Our Story
When we first came to Costa Rica, we were SHOCKED at the cost of traveling, let alone living!
Did you know that Costa Rica is THE most expensive country in Central America?
It is also the most beautiful and abundant in luscious greenery and wildlife as well!
We came here with little money to live, and even less to travel with. We ate rice and beans every day, never ate out, and all our "date nights" were sitting at home watching a movie. We soon became bored, and realized that there are a plethora of activities for under $20, many are even free! We learned where to shop, where to eat, and where to sleep when we ventured out to the beach for the weekend. We now have it down to a science, and have decided to share our information with YOU our fellow travelers!

When we thought
of tipsforcostarica.com
we realized that there was not enough information about Costa Rica and
the
things you should know. Other travel guides are written by people who
have travelled to Costa Rica and only experienced the land from an
outsiders point of view.
We (a Costa Rican citizen and his well travelled Canadian wife) have
dedicated ourselves to giving you the insider's look into Costa
Rica. While writing this book, we have come across many poorly made
websites, high priced travel websites with All-Expensive-Inclusive
Packages, misleading information or things
that were not simply true.
We also noticed that many other travel
guides on Costa Rica do not give entirely accurate and up to date
information, which is why we intend to publish updates on
